Interspersed among the lessons in each Learning Language Arts Through Literature book you will find assessments. Easy-to-use and administer, these tools help you assess your student. The goal of the assessments is to obtain information about your student’s progress in order to determine how you, the teacher, can better assist your student.

We have included here online the first and last assessments in The Tan Book in order to help you decide where to place your student within the series. For a sixth grade student, begin evaluation with the first Tan Book assessment. Proceed, moving forward or backward in grade levels, until you determine the best placement for your student.
